Period 5 Biomedical Research

Biomedical research is the broad area of science that looks for ways to prevent and treat diseases that cause illness and death in people and in animals. This general field of research includes many areas of both the life and physical sciences. Animals are used for these research as a means of developing new and better methods for diagnosing and treating disease that affect both animals and humans. Animals are used for this sort of research because they are more similar to humans and are just as easily susceptable to diseases as humans are. Many people when approached with the fact that animals are used for biomedical research are usually given false information concerning the treatment of the animals while undergoing research. In reality, scientists who do use animals in their research must comply with many comprehensive system of federal, state and local laws and regulations. [((http://www.nabr.org/issues.htm))],

Microbial disease is a very serious problem for humans, and the only way to better understand the quick change amoung the disease causing microbes is to better understand evolution itself. Because essentially that is what these dangerous microbes are going through, and since there are disease such as AIDS, Ebola, SARS that spread directly from one person to another, it is essental that we as a community fight the forces of evil and conquer these potentially terrorist like disease spreading microbes before it is too late.
